Service Description

*You will need to bring your own laptops or tablets, any other materials with be supplied to you.* This one-day introductory pricing for woodworking course is ideal for beginners who want to understand how to price their work confidently and realistically. It is designed for learners who may be starting out, considering self-employment, or simply wanting to understand the true cost of making wooden products. Throughout the day, learners will be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of pricing, helping them build confidence in valuing their time, materials, and skills accurately. Participants will learn how to: * Identify all costs involved in a woodworking project (materials, consumables, tools, and overheads) * Calculate labour costs based on realistic time estimates * Understand hourly rates and how to set them appropriately * Apply profit margins and understand the difference between cost and price * Compare bespoke, batch, and production pricing models * Avoid common pricing mistakes made by beginners * Price a small woodworking project using real-world examples By the end of the course, learners will have a clear understanding of how to price their work fairly and sustainably, giving them the confidence to quote for projects, sell products, or progress into further training or self-employed work. A packed lunch is required, although we do have microwaves, a kettle, and a fridge available. All courses are on site in Perranporth, Cornwall, and run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break included. Minimum age for this course is 14. Cancellation policy Non-refundable – refunds are not available if cancelled within 14 days of the course.
