One-Day Woodworking Basics Skills

*All tools and materials supplied* This one-day introductory woodworking course is perfect for beginners who want to learn essential hand skills and gain confidence working with timber. Throughout the day, learners will be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of using traditional woodworking tools safely and effectively. Participants will learn how to: * Identify common woodworking tools and understand their purposes * Measure, mark out, and prepare timber accurately * Use hand saws, chisels, planes, and other key tools with confidence * Understand basic timber types and how wood behaves * Cut, shape, and assemble simple joints * Follow workshop safety practices and tool-handling techniques * Produce small wooden joints to take home, demonstrating the skills learned By the end of the course, learners will have a solid grounding in core woodworking principles and the reassurance to continue developing their skills—whether at home, in further courses, or in future craft projects. A packed lunch is required although we do have microwaves a kettle and fridge.
